Eleanor Harper Tannler Bell, 71 of Portland, Ore., and formerly of Rigby, Idaho died Feb. 16, 1984 from complications following a stroke.
She worked for 23 years as a receptionist and secretary at Zellar Chapel of the Roses until her retirement in 1979. She was an active member of the LDS church, serving as Young Women's president.
She was born June 1, 1912, in Rigby to George and Zenobia Jane Sutherland Harper. She attended schools there. Following graduation, she attended business college in Salt Lake City.
She married Walter F. Tannler of Buhl, Idaho in Salt Lake City on May 2, 1936. They lived in Buhl before moving to Portland. Her husband died Sept. 21, 1966. She later married Grant Bell June 15, 1975.
She is survived by her husband; three daughters, Phyllis A. Kessler, Judi L. Jensen and Molly Bell all of Portland; one son, Douglas Bell, Portland; four sisters, Vilate Woods, Mesa, Ariz., Norma Morris and Ruth Bright, both of Rigby, and Marjorie Luke of Simi Valley, Calif.; a brother, Murray C. Harper, Twin Falls, Idaho; and six grandchildren.
Funeral services were Feb. 21 in the LDS 4th and 6th Ward Chapel in Portland.
Burial was in the Riverview Abbey Mausoleum, Portland.
