Howard P. Bettinger, 85, of 3922 Rt. 31, died Dec. 4 (1977) at Community-General Hospital after a brief illness.
A native of the Town of Clay, he was a life resident of the Liverpool area. Since retiring as a farmer, he has been employed with the Liverpool Golf and Country Club.
He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, the Baldwinsville Grange and formerly of the Moyer's Corners Fire Department.
Mr. Bettinger was a member of the Bayberry Senior Citizens.
Surviving are his wife, the former Elsie Mathews; three sons, Aaron of Liverpool, Louis of Tacoma, Wash, and Clarence of Cinnaminson, N.J.; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Hamlin and Mrs. Caroline Phares, both of Phoenix; five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. today (Wednesday) at the Maurer Funeral Home, Liverpool. Burial will be in Pine Plains Cemetery, Clay.
Contributions may be made to the Moyer's Corners Fire Department Ambulance Fund or the Trinity United Methodist Church Memorial Fund.
