Mrs. Oma Barnes, 75, well known resident of Summerfield, died at 5:00 o'clock Wednesday evening in St. Francis Hospital, Cambridge, following a long illness. She was born Oct. 27, 1880 and lived most of her life in the Summerfield community. She was a member of the Church of Christ. Surviving are her husband; three daughters, Mrs. Louella Moore and Mrs. Mollie Barnett, both of Summerfield and Mrs. Ocie Denos, Chicago, ILL.; two sons, Homer Barnes of Zanesville, Guy Van Fossen Barnes of Summerfield; one brother, Leonard Carpenter of Barnesville; 21 grandchildren
and five great-grandchildren.
The body was removed to the Bruhach Funeral Home in Summerfield. Services were held from the Summerfield Church of Christ, Saturday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock with Evangelists McKinley Bates officiating. Interment was made in Eastern Cemetery. Thursday 15 Dec. 1955 Noble County Leader.
