Cornelius J. Behan passed away peacefully on April 29, 2013 with his loving family by his side. He was born on August 8, 1927 to William and Catherine Behan and was predeceased by all of his siblings; sisters, Sr. Winifred, Neal Kennedy, Ann O'Neil, his twin sister, Kate O'Donnell, and Sally VanCott; and brothers, William, Thomas, Joseph and Patrick. He was also predeceased by his wife of 56 years, Eileen Sheridan Behan who passed away in 2006. Con grew up on Tipperary Hill and attended St. Patrick's School. He served in the US Army and retired from the US Postal Service. After retirement, he and Eileen enjoyed traveling, especially to CA and FL to visit family. He also enjoyed ushering at the dome for the SU basketball and football games and working the gate at the State Fair. He was one of the original Old Rascals.He is survived by his sons, William (Debbie) and Joseph (Emily); and daughter, Patricia Calabrese (Peter); grandchildren, Erin Clark (Patrick), Kevin Behan (Prema), Kristin Williams (Brendan), Karen Borsz (Michael), Brian Calabrese (Stefanie), Sean, Amanda, Maddie, Olivia, Michael and Ellie Behan; great-grandchildren. Brendan, Ryder, Bryson, Adelyn, Caitlin, Ava; and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff of 4C at Van Duyn for their loving care and kindness to him during his two years with them.Services will be held Friday at 9:15 a.m. at the Edward J. Ryan & Son Funeral Home, 3180 Bellevue Ave, and 10 a.m. at St. Margaret's Church, Mattydale. Calling hours will be held Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Onondaga County Veteran's Memorial Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Margaret's Church, 203 Roxboro Rd. Syracuse, NY 13211.
