Luther Luke Barnes was the son of Crawford Barnes and Ellen (Chilcutt) Barnes of Kennett, MO. Luke Barnes was only 44 years old when he was fatally injured by a Caterpillar tractor falling on him. He was married to Minnie Myrtle Dearing and they had at least seven children. Minnie Barnes lived until 1962 when she died from cancer at the Dunklin County Memorial Hospital in Kennett MO.
