Lovella Edith (Webb) Cooper, age 85, of Nebraska City, NE, formerly of Malvern, AR, died Tuesday, August 16, 2011 in Nebraska City. She was born November 20, 1926 in Hamilton, Greenwood County, Kansas, daughter of the late Guy Webb and Opal Lorene (Needels) Webb Williams. She was united in marriage to Harold "Norman" Cooper on November 20, 1943 in Lawrence, Douglas County, Kansas,where she was working as a telephone operator and he a cab driver.
Edith was a loving mother and a kind and gentle person. She loved being with family and friends. Reading, crocheting, doing things with her hands were her joys in life.
In the early 1960's Edith for the second time in her working career,she worked as a telephone operator for the Green Forest Telephone Company, in Green Forest AR where she lived at the time, but her job ended when the company went high tech and went dial: no longer needing operators.
She was affiliated with the Assembly of God Church in Nebraska City.
Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband Harold Norman Cooper on November 28, 1976, a sister Ella Mae (Webb) Daugherty and two brothers, Robert Eugene and Guy Edward Webb.
Survivors are four children, Clifford Allen Cooper and wife Kathleen of Nebraska City, NE, Carol Ann (Cooper) Fields and husband Jerry of Magnolia, TX, Stephen Lynn Cooper and wife Peggy of Greenfield, MO; Patricia Louise (Cooper) Prater and husband Tommy of Malvern, AR; 13 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Edwin Ralph Webb and wife Meredith of Washington; Dorothy Roxane (Webb) Williams of Kansas; Carol Louise (Webb) Chastain and husband Everett of Kansas; David Leroy Webb of Montana; Rose Marie (Webb) Milburn of Kansas; Larry Webb of Kansas.
