Mary Virginia "Binkie" Adams, 93, of Old Fort, passed away on Monday, Oct. 8, 2007 at her residence. Born in Jennings Gap, Va. to the late Col. Daniel Weisinger Adams and Rebecca Pearl Cross Adams, she formerly attended Old Fort United Methodist Church. She was employed as a writer for The News Bulletin and a historian & guide for the state of North Carolina at Mountain Gateway Museum. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by one brother, Dan W. Adams; and one nephew, Bud Adams. Surviving are one son, Stuart Adams Robinson of Old Fort; one sister, June Carol Adams of Old Fort; one niece, Sheila Rebecca Adams of Old Fort; and one great-niece, Erin Marie Adams of Old Fort. Services will be held at 3 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 11, 2007 at Kirksey Chapel in Old Fort with Rev. Milton Hollifield officiating. Burial will follow at Adams Family Cemetery.
