By that time, there were three sons, Sidney Porter Bolding (born 1903), William Angus Bolding (born 1905), and Matthew Everett Bolding (born 1906), as well as one daughter, Mary Anna Narcissus Bolding (born 1909). To the family was eventually born one more son, Daniel James Bolding (born 1916), and one more daughter Lena Christine "Tine" Bolding (born 1918).
James Porter learned the trade of jewelry making and first worked at a local San Angelo jewelry shop before going into business for himself. Two sons, Buck and Dan, also went into the family business and expanded it with watch making and repair. Dan continued in this trade both in San Angelo and Dallas until his death.
James Porter died 1 Feb 1935 and was survived by Delia his wife and all of his children except William Angus "Bill" who preceded him in death in 1929. Bill is buried next to his father. Also buried in this plot are Christine Bolding Neligh, his youngest child, and her husband Robert Neligh, and their son Robert Dossey "Bubba" Neligh. Delia and the rest of the family are buried at Lawnhaven in San Angelo.
