Floyd Cox, aged seventy-one, a resident of Windsor, died at the Mattoon Memorial Hospital. Mr. Cox had lived in Windsor for the past fifty years and was one of its best known residents. He married in June, 1875, Miss Ollie Sexson who died in January 1910. In September 1912, he married Miss Lida Curry, who survives him. Besides the widow, there survive four children, Oran F. Cox, Ezra Cox and Miss Rebecca Cox of Windsor and Mrs. Effie Niles of Mattoon; an adopted daughter, Miss Marie Price; two grandchildren, Montella Cox and Evelyn Cox, and two brothers, Linzy Cox of Windsor and Henry Cox of Strasburg. The funeral services were held at Ash Grove Christian Church Saturday afternoon. Rev. Kelley of Terre Huate officiating.

Floyd Cox, one of Ash grove's good citizens, died May 9, 1918, at Memorial hospital in Mattoon, where he had been critically ill for six weeks. He was born in Green county, Indiana, Nov. 7, 1847, and therefore was 70 years, 6 months, 2 days old.
Mr. Cox was twice married. His first wife was Olly Sexson, daughter of Perry Sexson, whom he married July 29, 1875. She died Jan. 13, 1890, leaving him to care for four children, who are Mrs. Effie Niles of Mattoon, Oran, Rebecca and Ezra of Windsor. Three of the couple's children died in infancy. Mr. Cox married Mrs. Lydia McDaniel Curry Sept. 7, 1911. She survives him. Mr. Cox also leaves a foster daughter, Marie; two grandchildren, Montelle and Evelyn; on stepson, Wayne Curry of Teheran, Ill.; and two brothers, Linz Cox of Windsor, and Henry Cox of near Strasburg.
In 1888 the deceased united with the Christian church at Ash Grove and retained his membership therein till death. It was there that Rev. Ira Blythe conducted funeral and burial services on Saturday afternoon, there being a large attendance.
