Amanda Blevins Cook, 91, Evarts, died May 22, 2003, at the Indian Path Hospital in Kingsport, Tenn.
A native of Evarts, she was a homemaker and believed in the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Sherman Cook; her mother, Judy Wynn Blevins; her father, Elbert Blevins; four children; Silas Cook, Herman Cook, Virgil Cook and George Cook; a sister, Joanna Kirk; and two brothers; Hyman Blevins and John Blevins.
Survivors include four children: Sarah Jenkins, Evarts; Loyd Cook and wife, Shelby, Jones Creek;
Judy Fultz and husband, James, Pennington Gap, Va.; and Ruby Stapleton and husband, R.C., Pennington Gap, Va.; a favorite niece, Ethel Cupp, Kenvir; eight grandchildren: Donetta West and husband, Lee; Debbie Edgar and husband, David; Benny Cook, Tony Cook and wife Cathy; and Jason Cook and wife, Pam; and 10 great-grandchildren; James West, Brandon Edgar, Aimee Edgar, Robert Stapleton, Jalina Stapleton, Brianna Jenkins, Tyler Jenkins, Miranda Jenkins, Faith Jenkins and Ericka Jenkins.
Visitation is today after 5 p.m. at Bailey's Creek Holiness Church.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 1 p.m. at the church with the Rev. James Middleton, the Rev. R.C. Stapleton and the Rev. Wendy Fields officiating.
Burial will follow in the Pennington Memorial Cemetery at Pennington Gap, Va.
Pallbearers will include Justin Cupp, Daniel Blevins, Randy Jenkins, Terry Jenkins, Sonny Stapleton and Lee West.
Evarts Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
