Information is from an excerpt from the Bakersfield Californian and information regarding birth date and middle name from a list of the Blair children prepared in August 1955 by Bertha Holsted.

"Obituary, BAKERFILED CALIFORNIAN,Tuesday, November 4, 1952: "BLAIR, Benjamin Harrison - Funeral services will be held in Muskogee, Oklahoma for Benjamin Harrison BLAIR, 55, killed in a two-car collision on Central Valley Highway Sunday, November 2. The deceased is a native of Snowball, Arkansas and had lived in Wasco since 1940. He was employed at a Wasco cafe and lived at 636 D St. The Robert L. Jones Funeral Home is shipping the remains to Muskogee today.

Survivors include five brothers: John, Riley and Isaac, all of Oklahoma; and Sam and Miller (should read Millard) both of Arkansas, and two sisters."

The aacident report stated:
"Man, 55, Killed Instantly as Both Cars Careen From Road, Turn Over"

"A two-car collision on Central Valley Highway just south of Paso Avenue near Wasco killed a Wasco man and injured three others in one of the two reported major traffic crashes over the week end. Investigating Patrol Officers say Harry BLAIR, about 55, residing in the O.K. Rooming House was killed instantly in the Sunday night crash. Injured were Harold L. Chambers and Joseph HamBrick, both farm laborers in the Shafter area, and the driver of the second car, Melvin Parker, 49, of Earlimart.
Chambers and Hambrick are in Kern General Hospital today, described in "satisfactory" condition. Parker was not treated.

"Patrol officers are continuing their inestigation today into the fatal accident on Central Valley Highway. Blair was in Chambers' car but it has not been determined as yet who was operating the vehicle at the time of death. Chambers' car with the three occupants was attempting to pass Parker's car at the time of the collision. Both cars left the road and overturned.
