Mrs. Geraldine (Gerry) Swinsky, 36, Dallas Little Theater actress and official until her retirement about two years ago, and wife of Albert Swinsky, Jr., 5619 Merrimac, director of advertising of the Dallas Times Herald, died at Baylor Hospital early Tuesday morning.

Mrs. Swinsky had been ill for nearly two years and had been in the hospital the last six weeks.

Mrs. Swinsky was the daughter of Police Capt. and Mrs. E. B. Lane, 5443 Richmond. She was a native of Dallas and was educated in the Dallas public schools. In addition to her parents, she is survived by a brother, Reves Lane, who is connected with the Ford Motor Company.

No other activity loomed so large in Mrs. Swinsky's affections as the Dallas Little Theater of which she was an officer, a member of the board of directors, and an active worker almost from its start in 1920. Although she never sought position on its pay roll, she gave the institution eight and twelve hours of her time daily. During both the Hinsdell and Meredith regimes she was looked upon as the boss of back-stage. She painted scenery, made costumes, attended to make-up, discovered properties and undertook the rest of the onerous detail work behind the footlights. Withal, Mrs swinsky was a capable actress, for many years the best leading woman for modern drawing room drama on the roster. She seldom appeared more than twice in a season, usually only onece. THe rest of the time she was quite content to work for the movement out of sight.

She was a member of teh casts of "The No 'Count Boy" and "El Cristo," which went to New York in 1925 and 1026, respectively, and won teh David Belasco Cup. Her last appearance before her illness was during the week of January 20, 1933, in Charles Meredith's production of John Howard Lawson's "Success Story." She continued her services backstage until illness forced her retirement. In the hisotry of the Little Theater Mrs. Swinsky undoubtedly ranks as its most energetic and devoted worker.
