Helen Cyr was born in Dec 1888 at the Cyr ranch near Huson, Missoula, Montana and five miles west of Frenchtown, Montana to Eloi Cyr and Elodie Theriault Cyr. Her parents were Acadians who had come to Montana by wagon train and the NP Ry in 1875-1876 from Northern Maine.

Ellen Cyr Called By Death. Popular Frenchtown Girl Dies of Typhoid Fever in Great Falls.
The news of the fact that Miss Ellen Cyr of Frenchtown, lately a nurse in the Great Falls hospital, died there last Friday (24 Dec 1909) after a long siege of typhoid fever will cause general regret among the friends of the young lady in Missoula.
Miss Cyr graduated from the hospital as a nurse last June and worked at her profession in the same hospital until the time of her death. She was a student at the Sacred Heart academy several years ago and had many friends in Missoula.
Miss Cyr was 21 years old and was a daughter of Eloi ( & Elodie) Cyr of Frenchtown. She leaves five (six) sisters and a brother. The body has been taken to Frenchtown and the funeral will be held there on Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock.
