George C. Ackler. 56, of 2610 Philadelphia Pike, Wilmington, Del., former Utica Insurance executive, died Sunday in a Wilmington hospital of a heart attack. Mr. Ackler was born in Ilion and attended schools there. He came to Utica when he was a young man and had been office manager for the Jim Brock Insurance Agency for several years. Mr. Ackler moved to Wilmington in 1952 where he was manager of the Mutual of Omaha Insurance Agency.
He was a member of the Presbyterian Church of the Covenant in Wilmington, the Delaware Consistory and Nur Temple of the Shrine. While in Utica, he was a member of the Oriental Lodge of the Masons.
In 1936, he married Marion Prytherch in Utica. Besides his wife, he leaves a sister, Mrs. Frederick A. (Dorlne) Miller of Utica.
The funeral will be at 10:30 Friday from the Surridge & Roberts Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Kenneth E. Roach, pastor of Plymouth- Bethesda United Church of
Christ, officiating. Burial will be in Crown Hill Memorial Park.
Calling hours are from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 tomorrow. The Oriental Lodge of the Masons will conduct services at 7:30 tomorrow night.
