Esther Fox Frank was born in Fromberg, Oct. 17, 1920, to Henry H. and Anna Elizabeth Neibauer Fox. The family farmed land in the area, finally settling on a farm near Laurel. In all, they had eight children, all of whom have predeceased Esther.

Esther was married in June 1943, to John George Frank whose family also farmed land in the area around Laurel. For most of his career, George managed bean and grain elevator businesses, most of those years managing the E.H. Walrath Operation in Basin, Wyoming. Their three children were Constance Georgine (Balison) of Billings, Leland Jon Frank (who died in infancy) and Pamela Annette (Stocker) of Pasadena, California.

Over the decades, Esther and George also developed a farm near Silesia and a ranch near Red Lodge where family and friends near and far enjoyed numerous picnics and gatherings over the years. Whether it was at the ranch or at her home in Billings, she so enjoyed entertaining her family and friends, gardening and her dogs. She also enjoyed occasional travel both in the US and Abroad.

Esther was a woman of deep faith who lived and modeled her Christian values and convictions faithfully throughout her whole life. In recent years she attended Emmanuel Baptist Church in Billings. She died at age 96 on Feb. 20, 2017.

Esther was predeceased by husband George, son Leland, granddaughter Rachel Lisa Stocker and all of her siblings. She is survived by daughters Constance and Pamela and their husbands Dr. Jeffrey Balison and Leslie Stocker. She has five surviving grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
