Claude Burdelle Brooks of Rogersville was born the ninth child to James Albert and Nancy Webb Brooks on September 7, 1926 and departed this life on October 13, 2012 at the age of 86 at Emeritus at Terrace Estates, Morristown. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Mae Stapleton Brooks along with six sisters and three brothers. He was a member of Rogersville First Baptist Church and had attended the First Baptist Church of Morristown. He retired from Hawkins County School System having been an English teacher and Guidance Counselor for many years. The family would like to thank Emeritus at Terrace Estates in Morristown, Tennessee for the excellent care Mr. Brooks received and especially Brenda Carroll.

He is survived by a sister, Berniece Allen; brother-in-law, John Stapleton and wife,Ina both of Rogersville; numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends also survive him.

Calling hours will be 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., Monday, October 15, 2012 at First Baptist Church of Rogersville, also anytime at the home of Gerald and Ann Trent, 104 West Hills Dr., Rogersville.

Funeral services will be conducted 7;00 P.M., Monday October 15, 2012 at First Baptist Church of Rogersville with Rev. Andy Willis officiating. Graveside services will be 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at Highland Cemetery with military honors provided by the Hawkins County Color Guard and Tennessee Army National Guard.

In leiu of flowers, memorials may be given to the TV Ministry, First Baptist Church, 119 W. Washington St., Rogersville, TN. 37857 or a charity of your choice.
