Obituary for Clara Amanda Freeze Atkinson from the Fremont Daily Messenger of Thursday, November 1, 1928 (p. 1, col. 6):

"MRS. CLARA ATKINSON CALLED BY DEATH. Mrs. George Heflinger, of Garrison Street, was called to Green Springs Thursday, by the death of her sister, Mrs. Clara Atkinson, 70, who died at the home of her brother,Walter Freeze, Wednesday night. Mrs. Atkinson had been attending the Halloween festival on the streets and was apparently in the best of health early in the evening. Upon returning home, she was taken ill, and died a few minutes later. Mrs. Atkinson has been a resident of Green Springs nearly all of her life. She was a member of the Methodist Church, and of affiliated societies, as well as a prominent worker in the W. C. T. U. and belonged to the C. L. S. C., a literary society in Green Springs. Mrs. Heflinger and Walter Freeze are the only near relatives. No arrangements for the funeral services had been made yet Thursday morning."
