"Graveside services for Roy H. Hupfer, 80, Chicago, were conducted at 2:30 p.m.. Friday, May 13, 1977, at the Dallas City Cemetery by Rev. Bruce Baker, pastor of the Dallas City United Methodist Church. The family met friends at the Fiedler Funeral home in Dallas City Thursday evening.

"Mr. Hupfer was born on April 9, 1897 in Dallas City, IL, and departed this life on May 10, 1977 at 9:00 a.m. in Chicago, IL.

"His boyhood was spent in Dallas City, and after graduation from high school, he was employed and resided in Chicago most of his life. He served his country in the Navy in World War I and in the Army in World War II.

"He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Mr. and Mrs. Conrad Hupfer; three brothers, John L. Hupfer, Charles F. Hupfer, and Frederick J. Hupfer; three sisters, Barbara M. Lofton, Lena M. Kiel, and Anna L. Glass.

"He is survived by one brother and two sisters, Edward L. Hupfer and Katherine Ochsner of the Montebello Manor Nursing Home, Hamilton, IL, and Mrs. Peter MacArthur of West Palm Beach, FL; and nieces and nephews."
