ABDELLA, Sylvia (Aswad) Of Flushing, age 88, died Thursday, November 12, 2009 at her residence. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 14, 2009 at St. George Orthodox Church, 5191 Lennon Road, Flint, Father Joseph Abud and The Very Reverend George Shalhoub co-officiating. Burial in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. George Orthodox Church School, Alzheimer's Association or Parkinson's Foundation. Visitation 2-4 and 6-8p.m. Friday at St. George Orthodox Church, 5191 Lennon Road, Flint. A Trisagion service will be held at 8 p.m. Friday at the church. Mrs. Abdella will be at the church from 10 a.m. Saturday until the time of the service. Sylvia was a member of St. George Orthodox Church and a member of St. George Ladies Auxiliary. Surviving are four children, George A. and wife Jeanette (Saseen) Nassif of Burton, Liela Farah and Gino Carroza of Flushing, Nadya Abdella of Flushing, Richard and wife Julie (Hurry) Abdella of Raleigh, NC; seven grandchildren, Nicole Nassif of Chicago, Renee Nassif of Los Angeles, Marc and wife Alexa (Shalhoub) Nassif of Huntington Woods, MI, Rey Farah of Grand Blanc, Brian Farah of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Elyse Abdella, Stephen Abdella, both of Raleigh, NC and beloved dog, Buddy. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gibran and Minera Aswad; husbands, Assaph J.
