Clarence Elmer Stevens, son of B.J.Stevens was born July 22,1884 three miles northeast of Climax, Kansas, and passed away at his home in Eureka, April 17,1939 at the age of 54 years,8 months and 24 day's following a short illness from pneumonia. He had spent most of his life in Greenwood county.
He was united in marrage to Effie Vanhoozier March 25,1913 at Eureka. To this union two children were born, Benjamin and Lulu, both of the home.He was a kind and loving husband and father and a friendly neighbor to all.
Besides his wife and two children he leaves to mourn his loss a stepson Francis Vanhoozies,a bother, Albert Stevens, of Severy;a sister, Mrs Charles Ritter, Eureka; two half- brothers, Hardon Stevens of Coffeyville, and Clan Hallett of Eureka,three half-sister, Mrs. Riley Payne, Howard; Mrs Edd Keiler, Pocatello,Idaho; Mrs. Charles Bush, Severy; Three stepgrandchildren, a number of nieces and nephews and a host of friends,
A short service was held at the home at 2:00 o'clock Wednesday afternoon follwed by service at the Baird Funeral Home at 2:30 o'clock conducted by Rev. J.L. Durham.
Interment in Greenwood Cemetery.
