|Birth: ||Jun. 13, 1881|
|Death: ||Dec. 23, 1968|
daughter of John Hutchinson Pritchett and Mary Catherine Haden Pritchett. Her father worked for the railroad. She married William Wesley Burnett in 1902, they lived in the Roanoke,Va area. William was a conductor for the railroad and their two children were born there. John William Burnett (1916 - 1969) and Harriet Elizabeth Burnett(1911-1981).
They moved to Hopewell, Va around 1917.
William worked in the DuPont Munitions Factory, then they opened a restaurant in Hopewell's Beacon Theater Bldg.
William died in Nov 1940, and a year later, the war started. During WWII, she worked in the Pentagon in Washington DC, as a seamstress, hand-stitching dress uniforms for officers.
Mary died after suffering from Alzheimer's for several years. Neither Mary or William ever had a headstone. Mary's obituary said she had a surviving sister, but I'm not sure which one. Her son John died within a few month's of her death.
