The funeral for Irvin Pope Wilkins 64, of 111 Clark St.,will be held today at 4 pm
Mr.Wilkins, a U.S. Navy Veteran, was employed with J.P Stevens. He died Thursday at Halifax Memorial Hospital here.
Final rites will be conducted at Branch Funeral Home Chapel
here by Rev. Edward Porter. Burial will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery.
Survivors include his widow Mrs.Marian Kidd Wilkins of the home; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Linda Copeland of Gaston and Mrs. Barbara Gay of Southern Pines; his stepmother Mrs.Mertis Kinzel of Fuquay-Varina; four steptgrandchildern;two son Mervin Wilkins 0f Roanoke Rapids, and Robert Wilkins of Porterville ,Calif. three daughters, Mrs.Nancy Bragg of Roanoke Rapids, Mrs Janice Garrenton, Long Valley NJ,; and Marilyn Davis of Troy; one brother David Wilkins of Port Orange, three sister Beulah Sewell of Roanoke Rapids, Mrs Margaret Underwood of Durham NC. and Mrs Ruth Padrta of Berrysville, Ark. and six grandchildren. Branch Funeral Home here is handling arrangements. Pallbearers will be Danny Blackwell,Linwood Acree,leon Wright, William Lewis,Leslie Denton,David True.
