Charles Anderson was born to Anders Skold (1838-1907), and his wife Khristina Almgren (1844-1922) both his parents remained in the old country. Charles reports immigrating two different times in 1889 and 1893 and in 1905 he and his wife of five years both became naturalized. His wife, Bettie Bloom, was born in Findland Dec 1880, according to the 1900 census; she immigrated in 1895, and her sister, Hanna Blom followed in 1900.

Charles and Bettie married in 1899, and on the 1900 census she states that in that year she had one child die, Ella. They went on to have seven more children, all born in South Dakota, namley Theodore b abt 1914, Isabelle b abt 1916, Agnes dau b abt 1917, Andrew 12 b 1908, Norman b abt 1914, Esther b abt 1916, Edith Anderson b abt 1919.

1945 South Dakota State Census Tinton, Lawrence, SD: Anderson, Chas 76, est b 1869, b Sweden, able to read & write, here 58 yrs, naturalized. Maiden name of wife Betty Bloon married 1898. Church affiliation Lutherin. Note: Caution, there are many Charles Anderson, born Sweden.

It is reported he may have died in Montana, there are four Charles Andersons die that year in Montana.

This is from another contributor, unfortunately, I was unable to find verification of the name Gustave:
"According to daughter-in-law Patricia Lenora "Paddy" Gurdis Lewis Anderson # 49438688 her father-in-law's name was Gustave Charles Anderson. Paddy's husband's name was Norman Gustave Anderson. Paddy said her father-in-law was born in Sweden, however she did not know the date or locality. Charles died 3 Mar 1942 in Lawrence County South Dakota."
