Mrs. Abney was a native of Franklin, Alabama. After moving to Pensacola she became a member of Allen chapel A. M. E. Church and later became a member of the historic John The Baptist church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Wesley McCants and daughter, Rannie Irene Wiggins.
Survivors include 11 children, two brothers, three sisters, 33 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren.
