"Babcock, Julia Louise,
Daughter of Col. George and Jane A. (Betts) Babcock, born in Troy, N. Y., was a pupil in the private schools in Troy of Miss Goddard, Miss Weeks, Miss Kimberly, and in the Parochial school of St. Paul's, before entering Troy Seminary in 1863, where she continued till 1866. She married, in 1870, Harry M. Alden, and has two sons : George Marshall Alden, graduate of Williams College, and Marshall Marbury Alden, Mrs. Alden is a member of several church societies, of the Daughters of the Revolution, and of the King's Daughters of the order of St. Agatheus.
