Casson Clifton GEIGER was named after Dr. John CASSON, one of the early physicians of Alexandria, Louisiana, who was an associate and friend of both of his grandfathers, the physician Dr. Charles Theodore RATCLIFFE and the druggist Johann Jacob GEIGER. Casson's uncle Dr. Jacob Casson GEIGER and his first cousin John Casson GEIGER both received the given name Casson, too, but he was the one one of the three actually called Casson.

Services for Casson C. Geiger, 79, of 406 18th St. will be at 11 a.m. today in the chapel of Hixson Bros., with Monsignor Steve Testa officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
Geiger died at 3:45 a.m. Sunday in Pleasant Manor Nursing Home. He was a self-employed restaurant operator and a Presbyterian.
Survivors include his wife, Mabel Brutle [sic] Geiger of Alexandria; two sons, Ted Geiger and Richard Geiger; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Allan B. Cross, Burt Bordelon, Eddie Geiger, Jeff Ware, H. W. Cooley and Aubrey Dean Sayes.
