George Wesley Adams passed away early Monday morning, Feb. 18, 1946 at his home, 902 N. Pine Street. He had been ill with heart complications following an attack of the flu. Mr. Adams bas born near Long Lane, Missouri on Sept 30, 1890 the son of John and Prudence (Scott) Adams. He came to Kansas at 21 years of age.
He was united in marriage to Miss Eugene Eleanor (Nell) Hackler at Buffalo, Missouri on March 24, 1925. Two daughters were born to them, Joyce Patricia, who is now attending the Kansas State University in Manhattan and Prudence Anne, a senior at Eureka High School.
The family resided for a number of years on the Barrier ranch northwest of Eureka. Since they have moved from the farm to Eureka, he has been employed at the Paul Jones Equipment Co. Mr. Adams was a member of the Masonic Lodge #310 at Hamilton and has been active in the order for the past eighteen years. He was industrious and conscientious in all his work, a friendly neighbor and a reliable friend. He will be sadly missed not only by his family, but his neighbors. Besides his wife and daughters, he is survived by one sister Mrs. E.G. Phillips, Lamont, Kansas and a half brother J.I. Stowe of Anadarko, Okla. - The Eureka Herald Feb., 1946.
