"Charles Henry Zimmerman, 71, of 720 1/2 N. Broadway, died at 9:47 p.m. Saturday, July 7, 1979, at the Kansas
University Medical Center in Kansas City, where he had been a patient for about five weeks. He had been sick for several years.
He was born December 20, 1907, in LaHarpe, the fourth child of Charles H. and Kathern (Dugan) Zimmerman. He had lived most of his life in the Hepler-Ft. Scott area. During his youth he had worked as a carpenter and mechanic. He worked at the Pittsburg Pottery the past two years.
He is survived by a son, Rollans R. Zimmerman of Wheatland, Wyoming; a daughter, Delores Remster, of Cheyenne, Wyoming; three brothers, W.M. "Mannie" Zimmerman of Arcadia; Fielding Zimmerman, of Williams, Arizona; and Glen Zimmerman, of Topeka; four grandchildren, and one great grandchild. A brother died before him.
Services will be at 10:a.m. Thursday at the McGavran-Quinn Funeral Home, the Rev. Bob McGuire officiating.
Burial will be in the Hepler Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the McGavran-Quinn Funeral Home."
Note: A hospital employee mistakenly placed the feeding tube contents into his IV, causing a heart attack.
