Raymond Q. Remster, 80, of 719 North 4th Avenue, died Tuesday evening, May 29, 1990, at Marshalltown Medical & Surgical Center of natural causes. Services will be held at the Estel-Perrin-Avey Funeral Home at 10:00 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. Bill Barrett, pastor of the Open Bible Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 9:00 a.m. Friday. Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
Born March 9, 1910, at Dallas Center, he was the son of James and Rosa Remster. He was educated in the Chariton schools. On June 19, 1943, at Albia, he was married to Lula Taft, and during World War II, he was employed in a defense plant in the state of Washington. Later, he returned to Marshalltown and was employed by Fisher Controls from 1951 until his retirement in 1972. He was a member of UAW Local 893.
Preceding him in death were three brothers [Rolley, Lawrence, and Earl].
Mr. Remster is survived by his wife, Lula; a son, Ray Remster, Belleville, Illinois, five grandchildren, and a sister, Beulah Pardoe of Ottumwa, as well as several nieces and nephews.
