Joseph Warren Averill is my 2x great grandfather.
I have been studying the life of my ancestors. Trying to see how they lived and died. There were two books written by Clara A Avery in the 1900's and she used contributions from other family members and gave them credit. A lot of my ancestors the information is really basic when they were born and died, who they married, and listing children. page 794 in vol II of Clara Avery's books.

He married Abigail Upham April 23, 1852 in Brimfield MA and she was born Oct 3, 1826 and died August 30 1899.They had 2 sons
Arthur Baxter Averill born Oct 4, 1854 in Brimfield MA and died April 24, 1941, He is my Great Uncle and found documents on his research into the Averill family.
Waldo Burlingame Averill was born Mar 5, 1872 in Cambridge, MA and recently found out he died Sept 19,1934.

I recently found the whole family was buried in Cambridge Cemetery in Cambridge, MA. I had a will that was written by my Great Uncle Arthur wife Carrie Matilda Snow Nay who is the daughter of Isaac Nay and Caroline Snow. In her will she requested to be buried at the Cambridge Cemetery next to her husband. I recently sent a email to the cemetery sent the information that he died in Apr 1941 and born in 1854. I received a email a couple of days later to find out the whole family was buried there. I had been researching on my great Grandfather Waldo tying to find out where he was buried at. When I received the plot it had answered the questions of when he died and and where he was buried. This was very exciting find for me. It filled in the missing piece. Now just need to find out if there are any markers.
In the census of June 12, 1855 Joseph W Averill was working in the House of Correction in Cambridge, MA.
In the census May 1, 1865 occupation was Officer of Prison in Cambridge, MA
In Aug 13 1870 his occupation was a Warden at Alnu House in Cambridge, MA
The last census found June 9, 1880 his occupation was Stone quarry man. when I looked up the Quarry in Somerville , MA there was a couple of location. There is no way of knowing which one he worked at.
