George "Red" Goodell was born on 26 Oct 1847 in Green Mountains, Windsor County, Vermont. His father was John Goodell and his mother was Catherine Reilly, born in Ireland. He married Addie, a Cheyene Indian woman in 1874 in Dodge City, Kansas. His second wife was Ida Jane Kinsman. They were married in 1904 in Chicago, Illinois. Their daughter was Leah Helen Goodell, born 1905 in Chicago, Illinois.

George "Red" Goodell was a Deputy U.S.Marshall under Sheriff Bat Masterson, in 1897 the Nowata Indian territory, and federal Oklahoma and Arkansas territories, commissioned by Judge Isaac Parker, U.S. federal judge of the Western District, Ft. Smith, Arkansas. He knew President Theodore Roosevelt. The gun in his holster is a 44 caliber Peacemaker.

George "Red" Goodell is my maternal great grandfather. His wife was Ida Jane Kinsman. His daughter was Leah Helen Goodell. His grandson was Eugene Turner Martin, of New Mexico.
