Bobby had lived and worked in many places throughout the United States prior to moving to Des Moines in the mid-1980's and had spent many winters in Corpus Christi, Texas. While in Des Moines he was employed as a handy-man for an apartment complex. He was a member of the American Legion.
Survivors include a half-brother, Gregg Monsom of Sioux City. He was preceded in death by his father, Julius Alsdorf and his mother, Ruby Simmerman. (taken from his obituary)
