Veronica Butkus, 92, of Schenectady died Thursday July 7, 2011 at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady. She was born in Johnstown, New York. Veronica was a homemaker. She was a member of the former Holy Cross Church in Schenectady. Veronica is predeceased by her husband Charles Butkus, her son Charles Butkus Jr., two sisters Anna and Frances. She is survived by two sons Gary R. Butkus (Julia) of Cobleskill and John J. Butkus of Delanson, also survived by 5 grandchildren-Michele Butkus- King, Greg Butkus, Robert Butkus, Aaron Butkus and Michele Upson as well as 5 Great Grandchildren –Meghan, Matthew, Joshua, Ryan and Emma. A Memorial Mass will be Wednesday July 13, 2011 at 10AM at St. John the Evangelist Church Union Street Schenectady. Relatives and Friends are invited to attend. There will be no calling hours by request. Internment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery in Rotterdam.
