TROUP -- Services for Mary Nell Beam, 73, Troup, were held April 28, 2001 at Cottle Funeral Home chapel, Troup, with the Revs. Jon Stouffer and Dr. Floyd Bradley officiating. Burial followed in Pinecrest Cemetery in Troup.
Mrs. Beam died April 26 in Tyler.
She was born July 11, 1927, in Salem Community near Troup and graduated from Troup High School. While in high school, she and her friends sang for the soldiers stationed at Camp Fannin in Tyler. She also sang in many church choirs. She was a homemaker, lived in San Jose, Calif., for more than 25 years and was a member of Alum Rock Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thurston O. Beam in 1993.
For the past year, Mrs. Beam resided in Pinehurst, an Alzheimer's Special Care Center in Tyler. The family wishes to acknowledge the loving care provided by the staff of Pinehurst as well as the compassion and support of the Hospice of East Texas.
Survivors include two sons; one daughter; a foster daughter; one brother; two sisters; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Daniel Key, Matthew Beam, Christopher Carpenter, Andrew Beam, Charles Beard, Brad Reagan, Van Howard and Jonathan Beam.
