Antigo Daily Journal, 30 November 1949, p. 3. Mrs. F. Johnson, 56, Died Today at Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Frank Johnson, 56, 1043 Fifth avenue, died this morning at 5 o'clock at the Langlade County Memorial hospital. She had been in poor health for the past two years. She was born Avis Andrews on Sept. 9, 1893, at Iola, and was married Nov. 1, 1915 at New London. She came to Antigo about 1924 and had lived here since. Mrs. Johnson was a member of the Methodist church and active in its Women's Society Christian Service. From 1944 until her resignation several months ago because of ill health, Mrs. Johnson had served as recorder for the Royal Neighbors of America, and had been their musician for many years. She was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars auxiliary. She is survived by her husband; three daughters, Mrs. Felix Sikora and Mrs. LaVerne Teske of Antigo, and Mrs. Francis Criscione of Seattle; three sons, Walter of Antigo and Frank and Frederic[k] at home; 11 grandchildren; and one brother, Ben Andrews, of New London. Funeral services will be conducted by the Rev. Ernest D. Kistler at 11 o'clock Friday morning at the Muttart-McGillan funeral home. Burial will be in the family lot at the New London Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from Thursday noon until time of services.
