Roy W. Beeson, 77, 203 E. Water St, Urbana, who has lived in Champaign-Urbana area most of his life and was the owner of Champaign Tea and Coffee Co., died at 2:45 a.m. Saturday (July 24, 1965) at Hubert Nursing Home. He had been in ill health for several years.
Visitation at owens Funeral Home will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Owens Chapel with Rev. Merle Strobhehn, associate pastor, First Presbyterian Church, Champaign officiating, and interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Born at Carthage Mo., Jan 13, 1888, Mr. Beeson was the son of Lincoln and Cora Beeson. His marriage to the former Edna Wise took place Sept. 28, 1921 in Anderson, Ind. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife. Her death occurred Wednesday, July 14, and services took place the following Sunday.
Mr. Beeson leaves several nieces and nephews. Those living in this area; Kenneth Chase, 505 S. Garfield, Champaign; Mrs. Elmer Cook, 907 S. Webber, Urbana; and Irvin Thompson, 1905 Willow Rd, Urbana.
