Kathryn Yvonne "Katy" Bard, 78, of Seaside, died Saturday, Feb. 4, 2012, in Portland.
She was born April 1, 1933, in Newport, to Lester Richard and Nora Violet (Yoder) Adams.
She attended Forest Grove High School.
On Jan. 24, 1954, she married Glenn Bard in Forest Grove. He survives, residing in Seaside.
Mrs. Bard was a bookkeeper and organist for many local churches and Hughes Ransom Mortuary.
She was a member of the Cannon Beach Community Presbyterian Church, Sunset Empire Orchid Society and a ceramics association. She was also a volunteer at the Providence Seaside Hospital gift shop.
Family members said she enjoyed ceramics, painting, travel, growing orchids and playing the organ. She played field hockey.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Susan Bard of Olney and Patricia "Patti" Mitchell-Bard of Spokane, Wash.; and a son, Richard Bard of Seaside.
A memorial will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, at the Cannon Beach Community Presbyterian Church, 32 E. Washington St. in Cannon Beach. A reception will follow at the Seaside Volunteer Fire Department, 150 S. Lincoln St. in Seaside.
Interment is private.
