Hill Family Services Set For Tuesday
Funeral services for Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Eugene Hill and their two sons, Billy and Daryl, are to be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Drummond High School Auditorium. Burial will be in Dell North Cemetery in Drummond with Cordry and Son Funeral Home in charge.
The family was killed in a Christmas DDay tragedy while they were enroute from their home in rural Stillwater to spend Christmas Day with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Claud Hill of near Drummond.
According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol the two vehicle crash occurred near Hennessey on SH 51 when the pickup driven by Hill collided with a tank truck driven by Robert Lee Puckett, 27, of Enid. The oil carrier is owned by Chaparral Transport of Enid.
Reports of the investigating OHP officers show the transport was nothbound on a blacktop country road and laid down 308 feet of skidmarks before striking the Hill vehicle on the left side in the center of the intersection. The Hill vehicle apparently laid down 25 feet of skidmarks.
The report included that the road was slick and wet and that heavy fog was over the scene at the time of the morning accident.
Hill, 41, an employee of Moore Business Forms, was previously poundmaster for the City of Stillwater.
He was born in Drummond, March 19, 1930, and was a graduate of Drummond High School. Other than his parents, he is survived by a sister, Mrs. Martin McCoy, King, N.C., his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Mable Secor, and his paternal grandmother, Mrs. D.W. Hill, both of Drummond.
His wife, Virginia Mae, 36, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dale Wartick, Waukomis. The couple married May 12, 1955. Other than her parents, survivors are two sisters, Mrs. Richard Harger, Drummond and Mrs. Jesse Burpo, Enid. Her maternal grandmother, Mrs. Ida Wheeler, Enid, also survives.
Daryl Gene Hill, six, was born in Stillwater, Sept. 14, 1965. His brother Billy Eugene Hill, 15, was born Aug. 7, 1957, in Enid. Billy Eugene was a student at C.E. Donart High School.
The family attended the Church of Christ.
Families of the Hills have suggested memorials to the family be made to the Debbie Willey Heart Fund, Enid, in care of Cordy and Sons or the Central National Bank, Enid.
