KING, NC ~ Mrs. Lelia Bennett Campbell, 89, died Monday, June 3, 2002, at Britthaven of Madison Nursing Facility.
She was born April 16, 1913, in Stokes County to Phillip Jackson and Amanda F. Bennett.
Lelia had been employed at the Tiny Diny Restaurant in King for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Ray Campbell, in 1982; a daughter, Evia Epperson, in 1973; and a son, Beauford "Buck" Campbell, in 2001. She was also preceded in death by two infant children.
Surviving are eight grandchildren, Joan, Jon and Terri (Epperson) and Mike, Laura, Brenda, Amy and Florence (Campbell); 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 5, 2002, at Mount Olive Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Randy Roberts officiating.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 this evening at Slate Funeral Home, King.
