Jack Eugene Fincham was born Sept. 3, 1905 in Wells Township, Marshall County, Kansas, the son of James and Jessie Eva Smith Fincham and died Sept. 25, 1984 at Community Memorial Hospital, Marysville, Marshall County, KS. He lived all of his life on the family farm east of Blue Rapids, KS. He married Myrtle Esther Sutton on Aug. 12, 1927 and they were the parents of five children, one son and two sets of twin girls.
In his youth, he helped his father with his greyhound racing business. He farmed the family farm most of his life but rheumatoid arthritis forced him to retire. He also worked at the Winifred elevator prior to his retirement and later helped his wife with her business, Fincham Ceramics. He was a member of the Blue Rapids United Methodist Church and of the Blue Rapids IOOF Lodge.
Preceding him in death were his wife, his daughter, Louise Fincham; brothers Frederick Fincham, Arthur Fincham, Homer Foreman, and Russell Fincham. Survivors were his son Arthur Eugene Fincham, three daughters, Lois Moehlman, Lova Kraft & Lola Thompson; 15 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Thelma Wempe of Sabetha, KS.
Interment was in Prospect Hill Cemetery, rural Blue Rapids, Kansas.
