KENNEWICK, Wash. — Scott Emerson Leue, 52, of Hermiston died Saturday, Oct. 9, 2010, at the Chaplaincy Hospice House in Kennewick, Wash. A celebration of life was held in the deep sea waters of Mexico at the end of October. He will be interred at Westminster Memorial Gardens in Westminster, Calif.
Mr. Leue was born Sept. 23, 1958 in Chicago, Ill. He spent his early years in Huntington Beach, Calif., and moved to northern California in 1974, where he graduated from Modoc High School in Alturas, Calif. Upon high school graduation he joined the Navy, married and welcomed two sons into his life.
After earning his honorable discharge from the Navy, he attended Lassen College in Susanville, Calif., where he learned power plant operations. He spent his career working at many power plants throughout the United States, Canada and Thailand. He lived and worked in Hermiston for many years, and left in 2009 to work for Shaw Power as a senior commissioning mechanical engineer. He returned to Hermiston in September for one last fishing adventure with his long-time buddies.
Mr. Leue is survived by sons Ryan David Leue and Daniel Aaron Leue, both of Colusa, Calif.; father Herbert Emerson Leue of Lexington Park, Md.; stepmother Barbara Leue of Elk Grove, Calif.; sisters Laurie (Leue) Stepp of Lexington Park, Md., and Cherie Louise Baron of Santa Ana, Calif.; and brother Jeffrey Lee Leue of Placerville, Calif.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Frances Lee (Phillips) Baron, in 2001.
