*Note* The date of birth (Aug 30, 1875) and the date of death (Sep 24, 1924) listed on the headstone is incorrect. The date of birth per LaRue County Vital Stats is Aug 30, 1876. The date of death per certified copy of death certificate is Oct 20, 1924. My grandmother knew the dates were incorrect when the stone was set. Her reasoning at the time was dead is dead, what difference does it make? She never envisioned anything like Find A Grave.

Alfred was one of Teddy Roosevelt's Rough Riders. He served with Company B, 2nd
