Malcolm C. ADAMS, 84, of St. Charles and formerly of the Curryville area, died a 8:55 a.m. Aug. 7, 2000, at Garden View Nursing home in O'Fallon, Missouri.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 10, at Waters Funeral Home in Vandalia, Missouri. The Rev. Ron Franklin will officiate. Burial will be at the Vandalia Cemetery, Vandalia, MIssouri.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of services Thursday at the funeral home.
Mr. ADAMS was born Jan 13, 1916 in Curryville, Pike County, MIssouri, to Heber Leroy and Nancy Branstetter ADAMS.
He was married to Juanita Mae ADERTON on June 6, 1944, in Bowling Green. She Survives.
Other survivors include one son, Mark E. ADAMS of St Charles, two daughters, Jennifer K. OZENKOSKI and Theresa F. ADAMS, both of St. Charles; one sister, Alberta ELLIOTT of Escondido, Calif, seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, one sister; one granddaughter; and one great-granddaughter.
Mr. ADAMS had been a St. Charles resident since 1947. He had worked in the construction business as a carpenter after his service in the military ended in 1945. He had owned his own construction company since 1974 and retired in 1981. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Harvester. He was member of Carpenters Union 1987 and received his 45-year pin form the local in 1998. He attended Curryville schools and was graduate of Bowling Green High School. He served in the U.S. Army for four years during World War II.
Memorials may be made to the Boy Scouts of America.
