Doris Enid Irene (Dee Dee) Bjorum
Dee Dee passed away peacefully with her family by her side on January 14, 2012 in her 90th year. She was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, and friend. Dee Dee was born to Luther and Adeline (Pattani) Miller on May 13, 1922 in Reno, NV. She was a twin and had two brothers and two other sisters. She loved to read, crochet, play cribbage and spend time with family and friends including her pug, Chopper. She loved her life and to laugh and be happy.
Dee Dee enlisted and served honorably in the US Navy during WWII. She retired from the Orange County Welfare Department and moved back to Reno with her husband Erick in 1975. They loved retirement together especially traveling to visit family and friends. They were married for 65 years. There is joy knowing she has rejoined the man of her heart and husband of her dreams in heaven.
She is survived by her children Edward, Stanley (Valerie), and Ericka (Frank), granddaughters Kristy, Heather and Faye and four great-grandchildren, brother Ted Miller and sister Billie M. Lewis both of Reno and many nieces and nephews.
Interment with military honors will be at the Northern Nevada Veterans Cemetery, in Fernley.
