Adele K. Temperly, 97, of Galena, died Monday, Dec 11, 2006, at Mercy Medical Center- Dubuque, surrounded by her family. Services will be at 10:30AM Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Galena, with burial in the church cemetery.
Friends may call from 3 to 8 PM. Thursday at Furlong Funeral Chapel, Galena, where there will be a scripture wake service at 3PM.
She was born on March 7, 1909 in East Galena, daughter of Henry and Elizabeth (Heim) Foecking. She married Irvin Temperly on May 22, 1928, in Galena; he preceded her in death on December 30, 1985. Together Adele and her husband farmed in the area until 1952 when they moved to Galena.
Adele was a homemaker. She loved crossword puzzles, crocheting, and a good game of euchre. She enjoyed spending time with her family and all of her grandchildren were always special to her. She was a lifetime member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
Surviving are two children, Marita Watson and Donald Temperly, both of Galena; five grandchildren, Karen (Ronald) Stienstra, of Scales Mound, Nancy (Joseph) Hayes, of Corpus Christi, Texas, Randy (Janice) Watson, of Galena, Terry (Debbie) Temperly, of Midland, Mich., and Cynthia (Thomas) Knuckey, of Galena IL. 11 great-grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; a sister, Marie Fox, of Cherokee Village, AK;k two brothers, Walter Foecking, of Dubuque, and Harold (Jane) Foecking, of Galena; a sister-in-law, Margaret Temperly, of Galena; and many nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Leroy and Raymond Foecking and Ralph Foecking in infancy; and a son-in-law, Eugene "Ted" Watson.
