Lucian Davis was born in Tennessee in June 1870 and moved to Hopkinsville, Kentucky and died Nov. 18, 1918. He was a very prominent and respected man in the community. He was an architect that designed many beautiful houses and buildings in Christian County. He was known for his beautiful Stained glass windows in his houses. He was the owner of the Princess Theater and made it one of the finest theaters in the south, seating capacity of over 600. He was appointed Master Commissioner in October 1912. He was a Councilman for 8 years before becoming Master Commissioner. He was a City Clerk and treasurer of the Western Asylum in Hopkinsville. He was head of the real estate Department of Bank of Hopkinsville. He was my great grandfather. I wish I could have known him but I loved his wife, my great grandmother very much and she told me many stories of Lucien. He had a reading by Edgar Cayce, The American Prophet in the early 1900's. The doctors gave him only 6 weeks to live and said he had appendicitis and needed immediate surgery, but he did not agree with them. Edgar Cayce gave him a reading and gave a proper diagnosis and directed the physicians what they needed to do and his advice was followed and his life was saved. I just recently learned this from a wonderful man that put a comment on my ancestry site and sent me the documentation proving this fact. I want to thank Tom Hebert for this wonderful information about my great grandfather.
