Douglas Wayne Coleman, 75, of Grapeview, WA passed away on Thursday, April 12, 2012 at Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia. Douglas was born on February 5, 1937 to James A. and Jenny (Rodgers) Coleman in Elma, WA. He graduated from Irene S. Reed High School in 1955. In June of 1985 he married Erma Sofil in Shelton, WA. Doug was a mechanic for Simpson at Camp Govey before becoming a master mechanic for the Mason County Road Crew, retiring in 2002. Mr. Coleman was a member of Local Union 378 International Brotherhood of Teamsters. He was his own member of the "Dog Bone Club", an insignia he used on the many pieces of his woodworking projects. He was gifted in the making of furniture, curio cabinets, desks, and special boxes he made for friends and family. His hobbies included fishing, riding mopeds, hunting, garage saling and second hand stores. He loved his sweets and had never met a donut he didn't like. His family shared that he was a very helpful, giving man which was quick witted, had a wonderful sense of humor, very much a gentleman and adored his two little dogs, "Sugar Rose" and "Cricket Rose". He is survived by his daughters, Nancy Morgan (Roger), Allyn, Geanne Clark (Robert), Grapeview, Cammy Mastakoski (Chad), Hibbings, MN and Laurie Coleman, Shelton; sons, David Coleman (Laurie), Shelton, Ronnie Coleman (Dottie Goldsby), Shelton, Brian Coleman (Denise), Shelton, Jim Blaich and Raymond Blaich, both of Shelton, David Blaich, CA; brother, Gerald "Jeep" Coleman (Mary), Renton; sister, Darlene Warner (Gordon), Auburn and sister in law, Ethel Rich, Wenatchee; 16 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Douglas was preceded in death by his parents, wife Erma, brother Byron Coleman and nephew Steven. Services will be held at Shelton Memorial Park on Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at 2:00 pm.
