Mr. Wilbur Thomas Guice, 81, a long time resident of Alabaster, AL, passed away Wednesday, July 14, 2010. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 17, 2010 at 1:00 PM at Radney Funeral Home with the Reverend John Watkins officiating. Burial will follow at Hillview Memorial Park in Alexander City with Radney Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
Mr. Guice was born on December 26, 1928 to Jeffie Mackfield Guice and Annie Mae Watkins Guice. Before retirement, he had a long career as a foreman with major construction companies building Interstate and other highways as well as land preparation for major shopping and apartment complexes. His construction occupation required frequent travel at times including one assignment out of the country in Israel.
Mr. Guice was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Lillie Mae Guice; and one sister, Cora Guice Woodfin. He is survived by a brother, Grady Guice of Alexander City; a sister, Helen Guice Cook of Alexander City; his son, David Guice; his stepson, Dan (Virginia) McCain of Sylacauga; as well as cousins, nephews, nieces, and many friends accumulated over the years.
The family will accept flowers, or else memorial contributions in his name may be made to any favorite charity.
