Lavone J. Britton, 67 of Clearfield died on Thursday, August 28, 2008 at the Mountain Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Clearfield.
She was born on November 1, 1940 in Woodland, a daughter of Nellie (McTavish) Turner of Morrisdale and the late Leo Turner.
Mrs. Britton worked as a caregiver and cleaned houses for local residents. She was also employed at the former J&E Sportswear in Clearfield as a seamstress.
She was Baptist by faith.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by a son, Richard P. Britton and wife Shirley of Clearfield; three grandchildren, Jennifer, Ragina, and Chad; three sisters and two brothers, Mary Clark and husband Albert of Munson, Charlotte McBride and husband Charles of Clearfield, Eileen Robenalt and husband Ardell of Youngstown, OH, Leo Turner and wife Betty of Bigler, and Gordon Turner and wife Delores of Clearfield.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard P. 'Dick' Britton, on January 26, 2000 and whom she married June 20, 1959 in Clearfield.
Funeral Services will be held at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Saturday at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Christine Freeman-Frank officiating. Interment will follow in the Bradford Cemetery, Woodland.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday from 4-7:00 PM and on Saturday from 10-11:00 AM.
