Wayne, age 86, passed away at the Onaga Community Hospital in Onaga, Kansas. He was born on the Berg family farm northeast of Blaine, Kansas, the son of Herbert A. and Mable L. (Henneberg) Berg. He served in the US Marines during the Korean War. He married Joan Joy Butler on December 4, 1966, in Onaga.
Survivors include his long-time companion, Phyllis Schuette, and his brother, Harold Berg.
He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, and his brothers, Lawrence and Victor Berg.
Burial and military honors were held at the Onaga City Cemetery in Onaga, Kansas.
